First impressions
What started out as kind of peppery, has now started to get hints of leather, spice and cream. The ash is nice white steady so far.

The Light
Here is some official info from CAO about the cigar.
The La Traviata brand began its life at the turn of the 20th Century in Cuba or, more precisely, in the Tabacalera Cubana, Agramonte no. 106, in Havana. Over 100 years later, CAO has resurrected the La Traviata name, abiding closely to its original Cuban roots in presentation and taste. CAO La Traviata is a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar that combines an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Cameroon binder and incorporates two different ligero filler tobaccos from the Pueblo Nuevo farm in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. "The inspiration for La Traviata came from smoking numerous classic Cuban cigars," said CAO President Tim Ozgener. "We wanted to create a cigar that appealed to sight, smell, and taste. The oily sheen of the Ecuadorian wrapper compels you to pick it up. The pre-light has a distinct pepper and leather nose. The flavor bombards the palate with intense, rich notes of cedar, anise, and leather, evolving along the way into a lush and creamy finish. We've also stayed true to the original La Traviata vista and artwork circa 1901-1904."
Packaged in 24-count boxes, CAO La Traviata will be available in three shapes: Divino (5" x 50), Radiante (6" x 52), and Intrepido (7" x 54), and will have a suggested retail price range of $4.95 to $5.75 per cigar.

Cigars, what to smoke
It sometime can be a difficult decision to find a good cigar you want to smoke. I'm in that dilemma
now. I have a wide variety to choose from but sometimes the choices are just to much! I usually start with a top favorite and then look at the other brands that could be a good choice or compliment. Cuban cigars are also a good treat for those special occasions! I like to pull out a good cigar when ever I get the chance, life is to short to smoke a bad cigar. I like to pair it with a good Rum and pop on my Apple iPod and just zone out! A great place to look for super deals is Cigars International, the run a daily Joe Cigar and have some super deals. Also look at Thompson Cigar for some good auction deals. I have won 5 pack of the Red 601 for 13.00 that's a deal!
I have reviewed several cigars in the past and will start off later today once i determine my choice cigar for the day.
Happy smokes!

Whats the one cigar that stands out for overall taste, value and flavor?
Right now for me I must say that the Pete Johnson Tatuaje P3 series really does it! Its a blended filler and really offers a great taste combo with a great price point. I recently snagged a box for about 70.00! 31 great tasty cigars wow what a deal!

Looking for a good tasty drink to have with your cigars?
Look at the Zaya 12 yr old rum. Very mellow, very smooth. I like this Rum so much that I have just about gone through an entire bottle! It really brings to life your cigar experience. I have tried a variety of cigars with this brand and I can say that all of them smoked quite better with the rum on the pallet.
If you are new to cigars, I would suggest a few places to hunt your sticks. first look to Cigars International, they offer great prices and wonderful selection, JR Cigars and Thompson Cigar also have some pretty good deal on discount cigar prices, but I prefer CI over those two. A lot of people are fixated with Cuban Cigars, while they are and can be quite good, a great deal of care must be take before paying out your hard earned cash.....but thats another blog. Before you run out and become a cigar aficionado, its best to sample a wide variety to narrow down your own taste preference. Its also a good idea to get a good cigar humidor. There are some wonderful brands to sample, I really like the CAO cigars and am currently on a Tatuaje and Camacho kick. Both are wonderful blends and I like the flavors very much.
smoke em if you got em!

CAO Smoke Event 3/28/09

I had the great pleasure of putting together a great event at the CAO HQ in Nashville TN this past Saturday. My friends from Cbid were invited and we had people from several states show up. Tuck and Brandon came in Friday night and we went to dinner at Rotier's then headed over to the Boundry for cigars upstairs.
Saturday we all gathered at the CAO HQ at 2pm for some great times. We are very lucky to have such a huge big cigar brand here in Nashville. it made for some great fun and great cigars to be had by all.
Here are some pictures.
